This model is a very slim and attractive, handset with a large colour touchscreen that reminds the IPhone. But, unlike many fashion phones on the market, it comes with a decent feature set. This is one of the most attractive handsets avilable. The mobile looks and feels as though it should go in a glass case on display in a trendy flat, rather than stuffed in a bag or pocket. You will definitely be noticed when you use it. For a touchscreen handset, themodel isn't that big, evaluate a relatively pocket-friendly 54mm wide by 99mm tall by 12mm deep, it feels very light, too. It's large enough to have comfortably with one hand and it's fairly easy to slightly touch the touchscreen with your thumb. The first thing you'll find when you turn it on is a distinctive boot sound that was, according to LG, created by Prada and sounds like something from a horror movies - some might want to turn this off straight away. When it stops screeching at you, you'll note that the user interface looks good, with great icons, and you can customise it to suit your desire. The screen is large, bright and more responsive than those found on touchscreen phones I've previously tested. It works very well when you just need to tap an icon or dial a number, but as with many touchscreen mobile phones, there isn't any tactile feedback when you're texting. This means that you're not always sure if you've pressed the right key or if the screen has registered your tap, which gets baffling. The other issues that a touchscreen mobile phone brings is that it can get scratched rather easily and unless you keep it in its leather pocket or get some silicon handle it will get scratched pretty fast. It also collects a great deal of grease when you hold it against your ear to make a call, making it look dirty. There's a video player that supports MPEG-4 and H.263 formats, an FM radio and a music player that supports MP3 and ACC files, among others. The media player feels vaguely like Apple's iTunes and lets you set the play mode to repeat and shuffle tracks. One flaw is that there's no built-in 3.5mm jack to let you plug in a pair of standard headphones. Unusually, there's a document viewer that supports Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Acrobat files. Text files are reformatted to fit the width of the screen, so there's no need to scroll sideways to read the text. It works, but the small screen means you won't be using it to read War and Peace on the train. A noteworthy but rather gimmick like feature is the world clock, which reminds me of Google Earth, in as much as it displays a globe you can then zoom in on. It looks solid on the Prada's screen. Last, for such a large screened handset, you might feel that it would be great for browsing the Web, but the browser isn't very good, text pops up in the wrong set and images can look squelched. An additional issue is that there's no 3G or WiFi connectivity, so it takes a while for pages to download. A real disappointment to be honest. The battery life was pretty good, as long as you don't use the mobile intensivly it can last for about 2 days. Extensive use should be for about 8 hours or so. The camera is also a letdown, this low quality camera for such a model really brings it down.

Good: # Attractive design # Large colour screen # Attractive user interface # World clock

Bad: # Texting can be awkward # Glossy surfaces attract fingerprints and face grease

Telemarketing Mobile Phones Redefine Telesales and Help Diversify Services

Telemarketing services are being forced to work with shrinking call lists. It is not because the need for services and products has gone down but because a tough legislative environment, Do-Not-Call registries, and vanishing land lines are squeezing the telesales campaigns. Even the products and services that telemarketers can market and their tactics are being scrutinized.

There is good news though. Text messaging and mobile phone marketing is an upcoming development that can be utilized by the telemarketing industry. Just as many industries have pulled off in the past, telesales industry too must broaden its vision and find new meaning. Or it will see future much like the railroadthat were once the front runner of transportation industry but now moves very small amount of cargo and people as compared to automobiles and airways. Telecommunications includes numerous methods of communications and it is important that telemarketing catches up with current trends to stay relevant. Telemarketing is not just a conventional sales call. It also includes text messaging and mobile marketing.

The following is how telemarketing efforts can be effectively supplemented by text messaging and mobile marketing:

* Ride on an expanding market: You always have two choices - stay put with a dying approach and lose out or latch on to a growing technique and prosper with it. Traditional calling on land lines is fast becoming obsolete as more and more people adopt mobile phones. It is imperative that telemarketers shift their focus to the mobile market.

* No restrictions on contact time: Telemarketing is regulated by legal guidelines that specify the time within which prospects can be called. This is very restrictive and makes it challenging to connect with people at the right time and also willing to accept a sales call. With mobile phones, accessibility of prospect is no more an issue. Text messaging is a passive marketing tactic. The SMS is saved in the phone's memory and can be read by the prospect at a convenient time.

* Immediate response possible: Almost all mobile phones today have internet accessibility. Customers can take immediate action in response to an advertising text message.
